In order to acquire knowledge and skills, a person needs to undergo continuous, active processes of developing ones ability to learn. Ability is the mental and physical processes a person use to be able to do something. There are three basic abilities whereby learning can be distinguished and be measured: First, talent is the ability one is born with in the field of arts, sciences, sports and technologies; second, skill is the ability that one acquires with actual experience and repetitive practice through learning by doing; third, aptitude is the ability to understand and to put into practice what one learns. Nowadays, technological advancements in information and communication make learning easier and faster. The abundance of learning resources like the affordable prices of computer now and the existence of the Internet can make complex ideas or theories in arts, sciences and finance easier to understand and put into practice. Persons who keep on learning and who have access to a variety of learning opportunities can fulfill their life goals. There are plenty of things to learn that make learning a lifelong process. It does not end by earning a certificate, diploma or degrees in the university or any higher institution of learning. There is always time, place and opportunities to learn if a person has positive attitude and strong desire to achieve which are the keys to success in life. | |
